Good evening everyone, Patricia here!

Yesterday we held our “Deutsch Cafe” event again and it was fun as usual. I’m always glad to be able to teach you something about my cultur and language. It makes me happy to get to know so many people who are interested in my country, Germany!
Thank you so much.

Hello everyone, it’s Jacky again!

Half a year has passed since I came to Shin-Osaka Youth Hostel in order to work here as a volunteer for one year. Since that time I have seen and experienced a lot of things, been to many places and have thus learned a lot of Japan’s culture.
One thing I really looked forward to when coming to Japan was the cherry blossom season.
Did you know? When Japan’s famous cherry blossoms (“Sakura”) begin to bloom, people gather underneath their trees and drink or eat together. This is called “Hanami”.
Unfortunately, cherry blossom season in Osaka is already over. But in case you intend to go to Japan’s northern places, you may be able to celebrate Hanami!

Until next time!
